Maths Circle is an International trusted EdTech company creating award-winning maths programmes, dedicated to helping children acquire fundamental numeracy skills. Their two products are: Times Tables Rock Stars – a carefully sequenced programme of daily times table practice and NumBots – encouraging children to achieve understanding, recall and fluency in mental addition and subtraction.
In addition to winning Company of the Year (under £3m) at this year’s Bett awards, Maths Circle have also been awarded The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation.
The challenge
Maths Circle faced the challenge of onboarding children and staff to their application. The schools were not familiar with the provision of accurate, timely data or how to access the programme.
Initially, Maths Circle considered a joint venture with another maths app but Wonde’s data sync solution made the process simple for both the schools and the app, there was no requirement to look any further.
The solution
From the start of the collaboration, Wonde did ‘a great job of holding everyone’s hands’. The Wonde data sync solution meant Maths Circle could integrate with their schools quickly and seamlessly. Whilst there was an initial set-up required by the school, the ability to share relevant, accurate data meant Maths Circle were confident the right children were in the right classes.
Each September schools have to add new classes, sometimes they are renamed or set up in a different way. The intuitive nature of the Wonde solution gives them the flexibility to manage data as they need to. For Maths Circle, it means we deal with far less queries and individual requirements from schools.
Over the 2020 / 2021 Coronavirus pandemic and subsequent national lockdowns, Maths Circle saw huge growth in the take up of NumBots – predominantly in schools already connected with Wonde. It was because of this connection, and the school’s familiarity with the Wonde dashboard, that meant the process of approval and adoption of NumBots was quick and easy.
It’s also worth noting, despite the sharp increase in schools using Maths Circle products, the number of customer queries coming through didn’t grow – this meant schools were happy and confident in what they were doing with the Wonde dashboard.
On a personal note, Maths Circle ‘love working with Wonde’. Founder of Maths Circle, Bruno Reddy says; “We are always treated really well by the guys at Wonde. They have excellent technical support and ticketing systems which are managed efficiently. Wonde are great friends of ours and we look forward to our catch-ups and various industry events.”
